Integration Basics in 9 Min (6-Mark Paper 1)

Integration from zero: why it undoes differentiation, the reverse power rule, and how one point on the curve gives you the constant + C. Includes a six mark Paper 1 style question solved step by step, without a calculator. Part 1 of 7, for IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches, SL and HL.

Answers to the practice questions at the end of the video
- 2x⁴ − x³ + x + C [3].
- Write 6x^(−3) [1]; 6x^(−2) ÷ (−2) [1] = −3/x² + C [1].
- f(x) = 4x^(3/2) + C [2]; 20 = 4 × 8 + C, so C = −12 [1]; f(x) = 4x^(3/2) − 12 [1].
Questions are original, in the style of the exam; marks are estimates.
